Appart-Hôtel Le Petit Pêcheur
A seaside appart-hotel, with one calm system behind the front desk.
A complete management system for a seaside appart-hotel, with a guest-facing frontoffice and an administration backoffice for rooms, bookings, guests, staff and reports. Built with PHP and MySQL.
Appart-Hôtel Le Petit Pêcheur
The problem
A small appart-hotel has to keep rooms, reservations, guests and staff aligned while its website tells guests a different story. Disconnected pages and spreadsheets make that harder than it should be.
The approach
Build two connected interfaces on one PHP/MySQL codebase: a frontoffice where guests discover rooms, services and the area and book their stay, and a backoffice where the team runs the day-to-day.
What I built
- ✱Guest-facing rooms, room details, gallery, amenities, blog and contact pages
- ✱Date-based reservation flow with room selection and availability checks
- ✱Backoffice for reservations, rooms, guests, staff, billing, stock and reports
- ✱Dashboard charts plus staff and planning exports for daily operations
Challenges
Keeping the public booking flow and the backoffice availability view in sync
Designing for two very different audiences on one data model
Building account, password-reset and email flows in plain PHP
What I learned
- ✱How reservations, availability and reporting depend on the same data model
- ✱Structuring a plain-PHP application into controllers, models and views
- ✱Designing admin tools around real front-desk routines
Where it landed
A working frontoffice and backoffice for the appart-hotel, covering discovery, reservations and daily administration.
What I'd improve next
A test suite around date conflicts, schema migrations, and a clearer booking calendar for the backoffice.
